I won’t speak for the author, but I think everyone complaining about the girls disappearing is missing a pretty obvious set up, especially if you’re a wn reader.

Shirou is heading to the main continent where an on going war that EVERY love interest (aside from Sierra) we’ve seen have some sort of stake in, even some that haven’t been introduced yet. Shirou is also soon getting the means to directly intervene in that war, both combat wise and even in standing among the warring parties. Sierra can also show up at really any point in the story and likely will. There’s no reason to doubt that which ever girl you like won’t show up again and subsequently run through Shirou.

I think I have an unpopular opinion, but I really like this development.

Firstly, the manga goes further than "ahah sex" like someone summarized it here. It adds some death to the characters. I mean, most of you just limited Sierra to the loli "trait", because you expect one in a harem. However, we have seen some of the character's goals that don't align in your usual harem genre, because they don't feat in the world setting which is clashing with our MC point of view on romance and life.

That's something I think most of you forgot, even if it often comes back. He refused many advances because their romantic goals don't align. And now she did it because her changed, while the setting and the "vampire laws" didn't, making it difficult for her.

Oh, and on another note, they started having a platonic relationship around being "brother and sister", which is weird to move from this to let's be a couple. Yes, I know that harem mangas don't care too much about that kind of stuff usually (and I know it's a kink too).

I don't think she wanted a brother and sister relationship, but she enjoyed the skinship and closeness of it, so she was fine with it which he was also fine with giving. It's an issue with complicated social norms for vampires in that world.

I think I really like this development and I really like that we basically built the off ramp for the MC to leave the island at some point.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like that the vampire is gone but I like that they did it now and not later.
She just basically stepped over the line they had created and realized: "There is no way we can go back to how it was." And she probably realized that she wanted more anyway. (If you read the MC's opening statement about enjoying a thing for too long, it applies to Sierra too and her relationship to the MC).

I am also glad that this harem story really shows more depth in characters in that there is something happening in the world and they can't just stay out of it for the MC. That is like staying in the red light district while a world War is happening.

There is going to be a huge change coming up soon if we go by the Web Novel and honestly I am there for it because there is only so much you can do in one place. You need to explore more of this world.

Well... no. But let's just say author makes it difficult to hope or like any of the characters since he turns this guy into some kind of wandering gypsy for some fkin reason. Character progression's thrown to the wayside and makes it hard to hope for girls like my main girl Cecily or any other girl that'll show up cause Shirou's leaned in way too much in being a flighty lil bastard🙄 And girls just keep leaving for some reason or other turning it into kind of a revolving door

I mean 3 girls already left him, so I kind of do get where you are coming from

Without giving actual spoilers I'll just take this chance to rant here a little bit and say that in the WN the story goes downhill from here.

There will be one or two interesting developments that should happen within the next ~15chapters or so but after that it will become trashier as it goes.
It becomes so bad that the author himself decided to 'delete' a ton of WN chapters and go for a different approach.
However here is the funniest thing - the new story line is even freaking worse than the previous (deleted) one. At least so far, but then again not much has been re-written since the author is slow as f* and is not giving this series the priority it deserves.

I really just hope he hits his head hard enough to kill his sudden dementia while retaining his writting skills to finish this in way that pleases everyone - and more importantly - bring Sierra back.

The re-do happens right before he enters the inn where the sickly woman works alone with her daughter - so the part where he becomes a 'saint' and saves the village from a plague still happens but he doesn't have sex with anyone in there. EDIT: misread your spoiler somehow. The part where he goes from town to town healing people is very glossed over in the novel. Its pretty much mentioned briefly except for one small occasion but even there he doesn't have sex with anyone (or only does it once with a specific girl) - as far as I remember.

Btw, I simply read the new chapters using google translate because I was desperate for more content. Lancarjaya was also unaware of them and commented on November 8 that he was trying to make translations drafts by December but so far not a single chapter has been translated yet.

I really like it but I can't help but feel how it happened is a little bit like dating game. Feel like MC triggered a wrong flag from the event and ended with love interesting leaving the harem.
