I mean, she
is royalty. You don't drag in some random shotgun wedding as a future regent (though we don't really know the crown structure, so just assuming for now) without a civil war or two. All we know, she could already have an arranged fiancé back home or a situation with a need for one. They are at war, after all.
I could also throw myself into a tangent about how concubine as a position was commonly an extremely powerful and sought after one and the fact that in more than a few cases (way, way more) a concubine was domestically/romantically a much closer spouse than the primary one, but I do get what you mean. That pragmatic accuracy threw me off the loop for a bit, too.
