this one is the reason why I love this WN, it's not just the cliche 'okay: you're reincarnating into another world, don't give a damn about the previous world anymore and do your thing' but actually has a deep connection to the previous world and explain how the event unfold because of the mc reincarnated in this world

On God, the author who made this novel was a genius. I loved how he wrote his characters, and I just love how the MC acts and thinks. This novel was also the novel that got me into TS/Gender Bender novels. Unfortunately, no other TS novel ever came as close to being this good except for "I Quit The Hero's Party" and "Just Because I Have Narrow Eyes Doesn't Mean I'm a Villain!".

Back in chapter 21.2 Niito assumes that he had been reborn as Elrise from the start of her life and just regained his past memories at 5. Iirc the novel doesn't elaborate beyond that.

Somewhere around the time Elrise destroys the ancient emperor or whatever he was called - the one that created the situation that lead to the existence of the witch cycle. She returns to Earth and everyone is awed by her. And then the portal is closed.

in the extra chapter, Elrise discovers the portal that connects to Earth in the ruined empire, this portal once used to bring malice from other worlds to Fiori, and that world is Earth, the beginning of the saint/witch cycle, the first witch destroyed the empire, Elrise used this portal to travel back to Earth and meet with the author
this portal is the reason why Niito's soul can travel from Earth to Fiori and why the soul of the Propheter becomes the author on Earth, it's a portal that connects different spaces and times, in the end,d Elrise decides to let Alfrea seal it so there will be no soul wander through this portal like her and Propheter

In the comments to the WN, someone does ask what happened to the original Elrise's soul. The author says that since Niito was the soul born to this world's Elrise, the original Elrise was born else where and not apart of the story at all.
