Wasn't she already trying to pretend she is the saint at a young age and pretending to be the saint still now? If she would've said she isn't the true saint, we all know that wouldn't go well and nobody would believe the "god" part. They would think she is the witch and would just exile or kill her.I don't understand why mc have to keep acting like this. Like won't it be better just to make something up like:
"Everyone, I want to tell you something, I'm actually not a true saint, the true saint is actually (the girl name) rather, I was sent by the god to help train the true saint and the hero how to awaken their full potential."
Or something like that. 50% truth, 50% lie, and everybody will believe you anyway, hell, it might even make your image become better.
There's a very good reason why she's keeping the truth about who's the saint secret, I recommend reading the novel if you don't want to wait for 5 years for the manga to get that far though.I don't understand why mc have to keep acting like this. Like won't it be better just to make something up like:

Yeah, at first I thought about that too. There's a reason why Elrise didn't reveal herself early and wait for the perfect opportunity. I can't really say the reason without spoiling it thou.I don't understand why mc have to keep acting like this. Like won't it be better just to make something up like:

Just got a major spoiler because I'm a dumbass 🥲Yeah, at first I thought about that too. There's a reason why Elrise didn't reveal herself early and wait for the perfect opportunity. I can't really say the reason without spoiling it thou.
Thou, if you want to know.
Is related to the relationship between the Saint and the Witch. The witch is actually the former Saint that becomes a witch. The reason is kinda poetic for me. The saint becomes a witch because of negative emotions that accumulate through generations. Negative feelings like "Why do I have to fight alone?" the feeling of being betrayed and many more. It says that negative feelings eroded the saint and make the saint become a witch.
So if the saint kills the witch, that negative emotion will transfer into the saint and make her the witch. So if Eterna kills the witch, Eterna will become the witch. So this is a bad end for Elrise who wants Eterna's happiness. So until the witch dies, She has to pretend to be a saint at all costs.
You might think that if Elrise kills the witch, she will become the witch right? Well, the answer is no. This is a major spoiler for the ending if I explain the reason.
If the one who kills the witch is not the saint, the one who kills the witch will die. It explained that one of the game endings have Vernel kill the witch and he died.
Elrise in the end kills the witch. She died in front of everyone.
Before taking her final breath, she reveals that in fact, she is not a saint. Eterna is the real saint.
That scene really makes me cry when I read it. I came to the novel to laugh, but I never expected to get the feels.
There's more, but better read the novel for yourself.Just got a major spoiler because I'm a dumbass 🥲
But is that the is that the final ending? or there's still something else?
But then it will open the problem if she's telling the truth and how trustful she is.I don't understand why mc have to keep acting like this. Like won't it be better just to make something up like:

Could you also spoil me those 3 characters' relations at the end? Are they friends?Yeah, at first I thought about that too. There's a reason why Elrise didn't reveal herself early and wait for the perfect opportunity. I can't really say the reason without spoiling it thou.
Thou, if you want to know.
Here was Spoiler
At first, I thought this was part of chapter so I read it seriously then end up imagining Elrise cursed about how sort the chapter.Should I just wait a month for a fucking full chapter?
Being the saint doesn't come with an instruction manual, so it's kinda sus to convince everyone that this is a special circumstance, even if it IS a special circumstance. MC is working with limited information, thinks that the standard procedure for impersonating the saint(death penalty) can't be overturned, and the bullshit excuses to keep it secret are actually kinda useful for MC's longterm plans.I don't understand why mc have to keep acting like this. Like won't it be better just to make something up like:

If she died after defeat the witch, will she back to her original world?Yeah, at first I thought about that too. There's a reason why Elrise didn't reveal herself early and wait for the perfect opportunity. I can't really say the reason without spoiling it thou.

Everyone seems to use spoilers to answer, but mine is from what we already saw:I don't understand why mc have to keep acting like this. Like won't it be better just to make something up like:

It's actually quite advantageous that Elrise holds the title of the saint at this stage. One thing to note is that Saints need to awaken to fully utilize their powers against the witch, which until they do, the witch could come in and murder them and thus humans will not have a saint for a while. This means that Elrise holding the title effectively means Eterna won't be targeted and since Elrise herself is so stupidly OP the Witch won't be able to make a move against her. Second, Elrise's only desire across 2 lives is to watch the Eterna route where Eterna lives, her being the fake Saint gives her the ability to influence the story however she likes since she has a bunch of power to do so. Third, as much as she shit talks herself about being a Fake, Elrise LOVES the attention and admiration she gets in the position. She wants to drop it at the first possible chance, but she's also soaking that shit up like the shitbag that she is.I don't understand why mc have to keep acting like this. Spoilers for the ending of the 3 characters, YOU ARE WARNEDCould you also spoil me those 3 characters' relations at the end? Are they friends?
I don't really want to throw more spoilers. ButIf she died after defeat the witch, will she back to her original world?
Nice one, I used spoilerEveryone seems to use spoilers to answer, but mine is from what we already saw:
No one would believe it.
Despite how the old Elrise acted, everyone thought she was the real saint in the game.
Because, remember, as Eterna said in an earlier chapter both the saint and the witch are kinda immune to damage from all but each other. It is THE proof of a saint.
Eterna is immune to damage, so she knows she is either the saint or the witch. And thanks to the MC, we know she is the saint.
But Elrise is born with magic so naturally strong it kinda no-sells most damage. And while Eterna kept this fact hidden, Elrise kinda... did not bother - he was able to use extremelly powerful magic since he became Elrise, and it is a natural consequence of that so...
Plus Elrise's popularity and fame for good deeds (thanks to meta knowledge), he is the saint in everyone else's eyes. Including Eterna's.
So, yeah, people would think anything but accept it as the truth, thinking she was being mind-controlled by the witch, and since Eterna would be the one pointed out they would certainly blame her for that. Which, considering that as the true saint she is as immune to damage as the witch (save for from each other) even more than Elrise, and would probably be able to get through the magical iron wall of defense... there would not be any way to prove otherwise (that is if she did not even believe it herself to try, which she does).
Also, from the first chapter the MC alreasy knows how the original story goes, and he is guiding himself using that knowledge. The knowledge where no matter what path he goes through Eterna dies, including probably being proven as the saint.
So most likely he is trying to go through a brand new path he believes will save her. A path that he has been pursuing since he first got to this world, years ago, where whatever causes all the bad ends either does not happen or is aimed at him and not Eterna. Which... having Eterna known as the possible saint would kinda counter, I think.
...too bad this new path already changed so much it is unrecognizeable and maybe ruins his strategies, but he does not notice it.
Just got a major spoiler because I'm a dumbass 🥲
