On the chapters after this one, most of them don't have any comments, therefore you get this
View attachment 53397
you have to click the three dots and then you'll get the option to "Create Forum Thread", which basically means that you're the first person to comment. You actually have to click or tap that "Create Forum Thread" and it will take you to the forum where things will look familiar to you.
Im assuming this is because you are a contributor, as a regular user I do not have that.

You seem to have that because you're a contributor.

When I try I don't even see that dots, it's just this:

Okay, that's a problem then. It's not supposed to be like that.
We get by on MDex by testing on production, you know.
I'll bring that up with people who can fix that.

Edit:
Only people with perms to create chapter comments can create chapter discussion threads on the forum right now. It's an issue that is known and being worked on. It should get fixed as soon as possible.

So tl;dr Yes you can still comment, but of as right now, b/c of a bug feature, you can't create a new comment thread, but you can still comment on manga with threads that have been created.

I dont read this but it looks like this was the very last thing uploaded that mangadex will let you comment on shill-free. Its been fun guys, see you on the next site.
Apparently, they are adding the comment section onto the page, instead of going to the forums, it will be only usable for members, group leader, etc, until they can free it to everyone.
At least that what the reddit says.

I wonder if Chito's postbox form is inspired by/an homage to the TARDIS from Doctor Who being stuck in the form of a 1960's police box. (Both brightly-colored infrastructure found on street corners.)

Quite a few Japanese post boxes actually look like that...

I know, but I meant, "Why a post box? Is the fact that it's a post box inspired by Doctor Who?" Not the specific shape. I know I worded it a little oddly.

Except that while the JP post box was similar to the British post boxes, they were created in the late 1800's and Doctor who is a product of the 1960's... Therefore Doctor Who and the Tardis have absolutely nothing to do with Japanese post boxes (except for the fact that they look like it to you). As to why Ishizuka-sensei made Chito become a post box... That's something you'd have to ask her. Hell, she probably saw a post box while she was coming up with the storyline to this arc... I have no idea....

hopefully it's not really a corpo move 101 where they implement something bad and to avoid large backlash they add it piece-by-piece and to a small group of people at the beginning, this is really effective to minimize outrage.

No no no. You're still misunderstanding. I'm not saying "those post boxes were inspired by British police boxes" or even "those post boxes look like a British police box." I'm saying "I wonder if Ishizuka-sensei made Chito get stuck as a post box as a nod to another franchise in which a shapeshifting entity (and quasi-sidekick/familiar) gets stuck as a brightly-colored piece of old, familiar infrastructure found on street corners."

Yes, this. And since I can't confirm it with Ishizuka, I'm just speculating among fans.
Hell, she probably saw a post box while she was coming up with the storyline to this arc... I have no idea....
Could be. But where's the fun in assuming that?

I said it in a joking manner, but it really IS just testing on production. They don't wanna roll it out in one batch and potentially crash the site.

I always thought Chito was female, until she transmogrified into a male lion.. found a reference in chapter 3 where Chinatsu refers to “her” in a conversation with Makoto.

Chito not actually being a cat has me very interested, now. Is it the same for Kenny?

I think I liked the tomato saying lycopene the best.

Translators often make guesses about this kind of thing, especially in early chapters, because Japanese often uses neutral pronouns or omits them altogether in a way that's hard to duplicate in English without sounding unnatural. Sometimes you find out much later that they guessed wrong. This most recent chapter also refers to Chito as female, but that could still be an assumption. I might have a vague recollection of a conversation in some chapter that explicitly establishes it, but I can't be bothered to look.

For that matter, it's a shapeshifting spirit(?). It may not have a gender at all, or it could be female and just took the shape of a male lion.
