That wasn't very nice of that bigoted catman, but at least Lerunda has a chance of winning him over. I understand some of them hate humans because of all the raiding for slaves, but it's never right to generalize and paint everyone with one brush. At least he's willing to listen to a reason and not just demand they exile or kill the two humans in the village.
I do like Lerunda's thirst for knowledge. She's a brave kid to want to step out of the shadow of blissful ignorance. Heavy topics for adults are going to be discussed in that meeting, and if she's allowed to listen in she should prepare herself. She's not some isekai'd adult Japanese woman in a child's body after all. This is a regular fantasy with a legitimate child protagonist.
