The things that make a human is generally considered 'heart' and 'mind'. He still has his mind, so he must've sacrificed his heart. What I guess this means is, he can't feel love, compassion or empathy anymore and his love towards his family is now only superficial sentiments based on what he remembers he feels about them. In other words, he has no problem fucking his stepmom and stepsisters now, which seems to be where the manga is heading.

It is hinted in this chapter when he didn't realize that Sasae will see him killing king dude be scarred for life. As if an afterthought, he decided to shield Sasae after being reminded by the king dude. He didn't immediately understand that she will be affected, but once he realized what would happen, he decided to consider preserving Sasae's innocence. We can assume he will continue to be protective of his family in the future, except there may be lapses in judgement where his method of protecting them is considered heartless or tactless in the future.

Either the translation is wrong or the author has absolutely no memory because in chapter 14 the kings says that the tournament is a fight to the death.

Yet now it has a winner without either the sister or harem member number 42 dying, what a shock.
Also it would be the killer of the king who became the new king not the tournament winner. The tournament winner would just earn the right to challenge the king.

The author is absolutely useless at making the heroes "flawless" plans come to fruition without asspulls and ignoring his own setup.

But, you were also stupid, why?

Tell me, who is the one that make that rule?
And tell me again what is the current state of the King while this tournament is not yet finish?

Why would they follow the rules when the king itself is "ALREADY FUCKING DEAD".
And with that country state of mind, they didn't fucking care. As long as their king dead, the new one with power will decide what next shit to happen.

And tell me again who is the fucking useless with full of "flawless"?

Joke on you... Sad.
Go read more shit.. so your brain will progress on shit like this...

So, does that mean MC killed his own father someway?
But i wonder if he is really is still dead. Its possible that he might have reincarnated to that World (were MC and his family is at now). Because there is a need for a powerful rival/opponent for the MC eventually, and considering what MC had said about his father, he is the likely only one fit to be his opponent.

@hakive: You know, "fight to the death" doesn't always mean that all participant must die. It just means that there are no rules for fighting. If an opponent gives up or is unable to continue the battle, and the winner doesn't want to kill their opponent, its ok even in that scenario. And considering the straight-forward personality Dackte has, its obvious that she wouldn't want to kill her opponent, if she doesn't need to.

I had my suspicion on how the dad died. As a marriage scammer the dad was a threat to the family.

@Aichan So basically, he's an isekai'd jesus-onisama.

Though sacrificing emotions seems like a cheap price to pay for god like powers. Pretty sure every antagonist ever would have accepted that deal, including this king daba.

Maybe he sacrificed something else, maybe in this world they believe in a soul and that without one you don't reincarnated or an afterlife. So if he sacrificed his soul, that would be like denying his future
