This would make sense against a force similar to his in terms of strength and weapons. Like so many others factions in this series tho, he's still completely underestimating the JSDF's modern military tech and hardware, not to mention their logistical capabilities to quickly redirect their forces and adapt to a changing situation. Also isn't Rory still in Italica? Good luck defeating her.
Yup. Something we the readers would know. Zorzal is...well...Zorzal.

What makes him think he can destroy the lions' den? the military gave him leeway to redeem himself and yet, after hundred of chapters he fails to see the different in intelligence.
I admire his consistency, but he's a foolish leader.

Is not one wondering where's our Youji is at ? Cause this might be exactly why we haven't seen him in such a long time. Hell they might even already know of this fool's plan simply by proxy from the cook's report/check-ins.

Is the series coming to an end? they are trying to give one of the bad guys a redemption arc.
More stuff happen after this mostly about the gate and god stuff

This is just the end of the empire stuff arc

Hasn't Tyuule's redemption arc been going on for like half the manga by this point? It's been slow going but it's been pretty clear where it's been heading for a while now, I don't think that's really a sign of the series coming to an end (even if the series might be).

Rory is immortal, not invincible. All they would need to do is get her in a state where they can cut off her limbs and she's fucked for the next 40 years...
But didn't she get in a similar situation before?
IIRC, She got eaten by a Minotaur (it actually chew its food) and then when Itami and Yao tracked it down defeated it, he opened the stomach and Rory was whole again... Naked, but in one piece. Not sure if this is in the novels because I don't read them

Zorzal is canonically known for three things: his ego, his cowardice, and especially his stupidity. Each of these are nearly always death flags for royalty in most stories, but Zorzal is swinging for the fences.

I'm sure most of you are hoping he gets blown up/shot by the JSDF in glorious fashion, but his end in the source material was a lot sweeter.

Can I get spoiled on what happens? Want to know why it was sweeter.

Tbh, the only way the could ever win is by closing the gate. Even if the emperor gets captured would not know why the JSDF would stop fighting the war. Sure you won against the rebels but he is not really fighting the rebels. I hope the author is not planiong to say that the JSDF removed all their forces because fuck that would be stupid but even if they did. A chopper from the gate could be their in 5min and remove the emperor before it falls and give air cover.

It's not a spoiler since it was an earlier chapter, but the minotaur ate her entire body, so she was able to reform in its stomach.

The sidestory chapter 118.5 shows exactly what happens when she is dismantled completely. As long as her pieces are kept away from each other she can't use them to move.

In the anime they make that defeat more tactical but too short, killing the next season for ever

Not really, he still escapes with Tyuule so if they do decide on another season they can start the current arc from there.

Without the gate, Japan’s “invasion” will eventually come to an end with no means of resupplying. Meaning no more ammunition, fuel, human resource, food (I don’t recall them actually making any farms for example)
Military resupplying, maintenance and ammunitions aside, scouts have already been sent around to prospect survey the land for potential fossil fuels.
HR is a bit tricky but with how Alnus thrived getting along with the natives, luring them into the workforce with some modernized incentives should work out fine.
As for farmlands, it'll take a while to develop but Youji will likely get Alnus and its surrounding lands once they win the war. If not then I'm sure there'd be some decent nobles like Italica's that would be more than happy to take in some of the Japanese soldiers that'll remain, and there'd be at least one or two who knows about agriculture.

IIRC that one-eyed King on the cover of volume 22 gave Youji a peerage for taking out the dragon, so Itami would be that noble that would take care of the Japanese soldiers. In fact the other-world countries would probably have no problems giving the area around Alnus to him as his terrority.
