Funny that I didn't pay much attention to it, but in this flashback even though Tamaki was being her usual upbeat self, she was actually being much more subdued then how we've seen her before, these are the events that got her to be the person who deeply inspired Hatono.

A shame about what the girls in the band did, but Tamaki had quite the comprehensive posture, which was surprisingly mature and still fitting of her character.

For the love triangle there was nothing to do, but the thing she should have addressed tho was her friend's inferiority complex, if she knew that she was forcing herself to still being in the band despite thinking that she sucks, then she should have talked about that before it blew up

I love multi-chapter flashbacks about side characters that will be written out of the story soon! Nothing makes me happier than wasting several weeks on something that doesn't matter to any of the main cast! I love learning about a senior student who will literally never have a band session again in the story!

Is not that Tamaki wanted to be the vocal, she wanted more to just be in the band together.
And I think it would be much harder for Tamaki to just go talk to Kaho and say that she should be the vocal when every time she reacted very badly about the possibility.
Plus, they're both beginners, just as Tamaki improved on the guitar Kaho could improve on the vocals.
In the end both had their own problems, Tamaki was able to overcome it while Kaho didn't and made things worse for herself. Their personalities are somewhat the opposite, aren't they not? While Kaho ran away not only from the club but from the whole school, Tamaki ran in the opposite direction. And when I think about this I feel that maybe it's understable that Chiriho admires Tamaki so much, and for Tamaki to share that admiration. Chihiro is also confronting all her weakness head on, criticism and push back from other gives her energy to fight back.

Chihiro x Tamaki, that would be an ideal ship.
