as far as i know, it was always ambiguous whether or not tsurumi’s accident was intentional or not. the timing was so perfect it seemed staged, but it didn’t make sense for him to blow his face and part of his skull off just for tsukishima’s loyalty. but these new chapters show that he was hiding his past and didn’t want to be recognized. not saying it’s definite, but it adds another motive for him to stage that accident. sophia not recognizing him proves that the scars helped hide his past identity.

This is giving a whole new perspective on the "comrades' bones" line. Though I'd be surprised if his only goal was to have his dead family lie in Japanese soil. I thought his true goal would be to plunge Japan into endless war, out of spite for the world.

For more info about Shiraishi's comment about Tsurumi being odd in Karafuto, check out this link: https://goldenkamuyhunting.tumblr.com/post/613878699357519872/quick-outline-of-the-changes-in-golden-kamuy-vol where it says chap 211. The volume version added a lot more detail that the magazine version didn't have, and you get to see Tsurumi lose his temper with Asirpa, mention her father, and suffer severe leakage.

Anyway, thanks for the TL!

just went back to the past and returned
so..
1. Tsurumi bite off those pinky fingers to obtain them
2. The main reason Fina and Olga was in such predicament was actually because Tsurumi himself is a spy
3. Fina returning to the studio because of the poster was pure coincidence, or maybe not, gunshots should be very loud, but Fina still tries her best to return to Hasegawa (Tsurumi) because she was worried and steeled herself to return despite the sounds

Tsukishima is such a smart and capable guy it makes me sad thinking about how different his life could've been if he'd had a better start in the world.

Been reading various interviews with Noda (thank you fanslators!) and here we have one of GK's biggest themes: how the birth and death of children affect their parents.

Lmao the visual comedy in this manga.

The mitochondria truly is the powerhouse of the cell!

@oichifan39 I haven't even thought about that theme while reading this manga! I'm gonna keep this in mind as this manga goes on, thanks

Also, looks like the two Tsurumi fanboys are in on the big secret now, I can't see how they'll still be on his side after this. UNLESS Tsurumi is truly GALAXY brain and he pulls of a classic Tsurumi scheme
