the stories pretty good over all i remember reading some of the novel a few years back. the story has the slow life feel many recent novel have, only difference is the story starts at a later point in the MC life. people will accept if its slow or the the character suddenly had overpower gear when the story is action oriented but it just something about it that bother people when you combine them both.
much like the second season of one punch man that everyone wanted to be action pack slaughter fest and got angry, it wasn't good cause X or Y reason. it reality the pacing was perfect the the anime followed the manga 1 to 1.
it's when reader wants the story to follow their sense of what it should be that they end up hating it cause they feel it not right. if everything can be solve by the overpowered MC killing the story would be done in a matter or page, we such in the manga Maoyuu Maou Yuusha where it show the MC just barging into the last boss's chambers, that would normally be the final scene, the hero kills the bad guy and the story ends, but what happens after? stories like guilds cheat receptionist are the story after the climax, most would read the it if it was a sequel to a story where out elf receptionist went around killing everything before retiring because it would give them some context to what happening and they wouldn't feel stupid not knowing, which is really all it is.
