The Japanese comments on this chapter are funny because they're split between people who can't make croquettes at home, those who find them too tiresome to make, and those who can make them but prefer buying them because their price is a godsent.

It seems the croquette lore runs deep among the Japanese, lol.
Are they that annoying to make?

Oh, and the daughter is slowly starting to gain fans; it seems like this chapter's hairstyle has captivated a few readers.

It's funny that so many act like they will be in the situation that a female acquaintance would show up at their doorsteps which would never happen anyways.

And going by their attitude insantly going to the comment section of a manga they extremly dislkike for some reason because of cucking or some other weird imaginary things. Like guys, lets be real here. You will never get in this situation anyways cause you will die a lonely death. Ain't no way any woman would go out with you delusional incels anyways lmao.

Excuse me tho, I'm a delusional asexual loner. One who has been around the block enough to know that a person who you've not spoken a single word to in 17(!) years doesn't suddenly re-establish contact unless they're trying to take advantage of you financially.
It's not cute or funny seeing friends and loved ones taken for a ride like this in real life. It's unpleasant to see it portrayed as heartwarming fluff in a "charming" slice-of-life manga.
It's not about some dumb cuck fantasy or hentai-poisoned brain rot, it's about not hiding lousy intentions behind some gooey anime girl shit.

There's a downright epidemic of weird dudes, huh. None of you have the balls to do what's right so you're just gonna sit around and write strange comments on manga for the rest of your lives.

The author can try as hard as he wants to make the mother "endearing" but this just feels insanely awkward. The hell is even the situation at home? It looked like she was a single mother from the flashback or something? Or at least that's the impression it gives.

I guess the strategy is to ignore that as hard as possible, and only give out crumbs in the hopes people read it to figure out what the hell is going on.

She was a single mother, clearly. The father, whoever he is, hasn't been in the picture for a while. Why? We donno. We donno a lot of things, and that's the driver of the story. We especially don't know why they broke up when its clear they both are good for each other; last chapter made it a point to show that the dude's art(which is his career) has improved and he's doing painted portraits again, something he stopped.

Their circumstances and past are a mystery, which will be revealed over time. That's part of the story, after all. Why are things the way they are, and what will happen next? We haven't had much time to explain anything and are just starting to get into characterization after the ground-work for the setting has been laid.

My biggest issue with frying stuff is that you get that oily smell in your house for a couple of days, and it clogs up the entire kitchen more or less.
Some times I just have a bit of oil in a pan like MC and fries like that. I have a fryer but I've never used it I must admit.
Yeah, my mom had a deep fryer she never used cause it was a pain in the ass. Uses too much oil, it stinks, and it feels like a massive waste after you're done. It's actually a good habit to learn how to fry in a skillet or dutch oven, since you're probably not a restaurant and thus don't really need to use a deep fryer all that often. Although I also don't really use frying heavy cooking and certainly don't come from a family that did, so maybe there's a whole bunch of tricks to it that I just don't know.

What a waste of money
I've wasted far more money on stuff I don't use than a fryer.
I have the space and the money so in the end it's no big deal.
I bought it on sale for less than half price too, so it was kind of a bargain. I think they were getting rid of them since everyone seems to be using air fryers these days.

I think that if you plan it a bit (using the fryer several days in a row with planned dinners, and you freeze down some of the stuff you make and similar), it's probably less of a pain to use it. A friend of mine that was in the US fried everything. I'm not sure if he'd do that with the vegetable oil prices now, it's gotten over twice as expensive as it used to be, but still it's possible if you want to.

I like making chicken nuggets, they're tasty and cheap and you can make them fine with just oil in a pan. Probably haven't made them in ten years or something though, used to make them all the time back when I was a student. Otherwise fries are always a winner.

You do you then.
I'm a bit tired of the minimalist concept everyone is trying to live these days. I grew up without most things, and owning things is fun. That might also explain when I'm a lot more materialistic than people around me I guess, because I couldn't really have the things all other people around me had until I started making my own money.
You don't understand how money can buy you happiness unless you have experienced not having things people take for granted honestly.

Every time I come to read the comment section on this site, I have to remind myself that there are a lot of children with under developed brains commenting. I’d lose hope in humanity otherwise 🖐️ 😩 🤚
You as the adult you are of course chose to shame or insult them when their opinion differ from yours, of course. That's called being a hypocrite.

Supposedly adults who place themselves in higher moral grounds to demerit other people's opinions are no better than those "children" to be real.
