Besides the emotional manipulation towards the MC, the lack of maturity in the mother. It's like she can only work as a damsel in distress during emergency situations. For example it is very clear she was dependant on her late husband and the moment he was not there anymore she immediately jumped to her latest option (MC) without even trying more to take the reins of her problems like mature adults (specially those with children) do.

That is not how things went, the husband died close to the birth of the daughter, so she raised the kid alone for 14 years before asking MC for help, that is far from immediately.

After my initial comment long ago, revisiting this, it still reeks of cuckery. It triest so hard to be this soft heartwarming story, sorry but the MC is a big cuck, deserving so, and the FMC SHOULD go for another person, the backstory, so far (24 chapters in) does NOT justify MC's leniency on FMC, but it does explain just how much of a passive cuck he is. I once hoped that the story could get revived by the MC doing the most based move by taking the daughter, and then maybe the FMC (if he still wanted that used goods), but with it's revelation of a new male character, it's fate is sealed to be a total self-disrespecting manga. Sad to see such a good smooth art to be tainted with a story like this. Shame on all of you who enjoy this

I don't really get the point of the premise, "Wouldn't it be great if your ex of 17 years ago took you in as a single parent?", what?
He hasn't moved on and he's going to risk wasting time for her?

I'd be a lot less awkward if he didn't know her, if it's out of pure pity/duty and not some "I can't move on"/"I'm glad I can see her again" feeling, a lot less pathetic too (For example, his step-parent/relative has him house some step-cousins/relatives, he's not related, doesn't know them, but he has to so he can appease his parent's marriage(duty), and pities them(though, that'd fade))
Currently the only reason they're there is because he knew her, he probably hasn't moved on, and pity, all which are wrought with regret, a "Why did I do that" moment (Blind altruism is not a pure positive)

If he had an ounce of "I don't want to do this" (the pity fades) and she starts seeing that, then she'd have a reason to be active, be it beneficial, or less taxing on him, does she not see herself as a burden?
Is it just "Sorry, thank you, sorry, thank you" like I imagine

Honestly I'll give this a fair and honest review. i hate everyone besides the daughter for many reasons but because of this selfish mess we are in. This mother breaks up with him because of her insecurities and the story tried to portray him as the one to blame for "letting her go" but they are both fucking adults.

I know this is manga lodgic. but think about this, if a girl was willing to break up with you instead of trying to find solutions and communicating it means the relationship wasn't valuable enough to try doing in her eyes. She's a big girl and can make her own choices and from the MCs pov heck any normal persons pov he could have thought she hated him. This is not as tragic or valid as people make it out to be it just shows how insanely selfish of a woman she is.

Then after that she dates again thats valid they did break up,she gets another partner and they get intimate enough to have a child that's also valid. Yk what isn't? Thinking it's in any way appropriate to go to the ex's house which she knows has feelings and staying over indefinitely. This builds a bad power dynamic between the two and it's exploitative shes relying in old emotions to help her twisting an old wound with even a kid. This shows her disregard for people and selfishness even tho it's for her kid i find it scummy. She lets her daughter in a strange mans house not even fully aware whether he can be fully trusted as well this is something risky and the daughter is at this mans mercy it tries to protray it as sweet but eh, don't forget they haven't met in more thsn a decade people change. And to elaborate on the power dynamic he clearly holds more power than her he holds her finances and can kick her and her daughter out that's not good.

Then the conversation with the sister proves she knows he likes her but lets this environment stay toxic. It's left up to the guy to talk to her and take initiative and why is that? Why can't she herself be an adult and talk to him seriously this story tries so hard to make the dude a loser, which believe me he is but shes also manipulative and wishy washy. If you know he likes you and are living in his house you are leading him on by purposefully leaving this alone why is her inability to communicate not treated as the flaw it is? but the MC is treated like shit for not being able to act? Does she want a relationship with him or does she want to stay single with her daughter and live with him? You cannot have your cake and eat it too she's using her kid as a shield to act selfish. But i can understand her priority is her kid to a degree and not others feelings this is true to an extent.

Now for the MC oh god where do i begin this son of a bitch is such a loser. he won't even ask why she left or anything else.he doesn't even want to bring up the uncomfortable conversations,Thinking it's a miracle she even came back he feels like a Martyr deluding himself believing he's doing it for good. This feeling is very dangerous because it comes off as toxic he's helping her with an alterior motive. he still has feelings for her and he thinks by being nice enough he will get her this is it of itself is just pathetic,sad and disgusting he hasn't even tired to move on for years still ruminating over the girl who left him when he could have easily done so. Instead he stays this pathetic loser taking in another mans kid who he doesn't know the origins off or whether she'll just run bsck to him this feels like immense cuckery. And why am i being overly critical because these emotions can turn into entitlement and resentment he seems like one of those nice guys just more castrated.

He has so little self respect he allows them to stay indefinitely as he's maniplated and clearly getting attached to a kid that isn't his.now this isn't exactly the problem him being attached isn't to a degree, but it's how he acts like he's her father making decisions for her like not allowing the daughter to give the middle school boy heart shaped chocolates being over protective of her.and it's trying to portay this as sweet or healthy but it's deeply controlling and creepy he's playing house and getting attached to a kid that isn't his in any way shape or form and if so the mother decides to leave so will this kid. he'll be alone so yeah this leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth which is why i cannot root for these people

• He's still hung up on her after 17 years? Why wouldn't he be when 1) he actually loved her and 2) their breakup was sudden and lacking in explanation?
• Is it that strange for a relatively young person (FMC) to realistically consider her options after her parents' divorce? The MC was clearly absorbed in his work and there was no way she could have asked him "can you start working instead of doing what you love, so we can live together because our family lost its main source of income?" ...She did it for him, given the circumstances, a sign that she actually loved him too, but she just wasn't able to afford the relationship.
• The dead father is also getting hate for no reason whatsoever? He just conveniently worked where she found her new job, so unlike our MC, their lives were much more aligned and the prospect of a life together was a much more realistic outcome. The daughter was born 3 years later anyway, so it wasn't just a "whim" on anyone's part either. Not to mention he's portrayed as someone with a good head on his shoulders, too, despite the little on-screen time. Heck, he didn't even get to see her daughter. Jesus Christ, guys.
• You're also completely ignoring how the MC did set up boundaries, how the FMC kept looking for a house while still having an income to pay for food at the very least, how it's completely human to both rely on someone you once loved and try to help someone you still love... but that might be too hard to understand for you pea-brained organisms.

If you're instead a new reader: give it a chance regardless of comments, unless you're also a pea-brained organism.
