I just plowed (heh) through all the chapters til now. It's a silly, saucy, light and fluffy series but with regards to the translation: It's a bit of a mess.
I don't mean that it's stilted MTL levels of bad, but there's a lot of inconsistency. Character and party names change their spellings multiple times over the course of the chapters (or sometimes within a chapter), switching and switching back at random. Occasionally I get the sense that there might be a clearer way to phrase things too but it keeps a very rigid 'just barely translated' sort of vibe sometimes.
Like Rita is Rita except for a chapter where she's Rika. Maia is spelled that way then becomes Maya. Leon and Lydia's party name goes through like 4 or 5 different translations over the course of a few chapters.
It's not terrible and it's certainly readable, but if this is an issue of having different staff members working on it, there should be consistency or evidence that when the translators/typsetters change that info is traded between group members. These sorts of careening differences feel like what I'd expect from multiple disconnected groups taking the reins of translation from one another, not the same group working continuously from the beginning.
Okay so, his "generic op ability" is getting a temporary "job" called sage. He gets it after having sex and it's called "sage time" aka post but clarity. Also he has no refractory period, so he can extend the time limit my continously having sex. This job basically give him every magical ability there is, with an emphasis on buffs.
This manga is basically lazy smut. The protagonist is pretty boring and generic, and his hair cut doesn't do him any favors.
It's not explicitly stated, but there seems to be no sense of chastity or purity in this world, and yet all but one of the girls are still virgins 🙄. The non-sexual foreplay to sex (the romancing) is nonexistent, making the actual sex kinda unexciting.
Some actual examples:
1 "we could either wait in this completely safe room to be rescued, with all the food we could want, or I (a noble woman) could give my virginity to you (a commoner) So we could risk our lives by putting our trust in this new skill you have that you don't really understand .
2 "oh thank you for healing me, here, have my virginity"
3 "oh thank you for buffing me, here, have my virginity. Also, I was almost raped so I'm afraid of men, but I've known you for less than a day, so I trust you."
4 "We have offended you, please use our bodies however you wish"
5 "I want to know about your ability, so you could either explain this pretty simple concept to me, or we could have sex."
The sex is way too easy, to the point it's boring, and of course the girls fall for him instantly. Not to mention the actual sex scenes are pretty meh, there's pletty of non-hentai Mangas with much better sex scenes.
The manga isn't bad, it's kinda mediocre. It has a fast pace and reads quickly, which depending on how you look at it, could either be good or bad. Oh, and the way his original team ditches him is refreshingly different.
If you enjoy fantasy harem smut, I think you will definitely enjoy this. For what this story is (lets not kid ourselves) I think it genuinely has a lot of heart.
Is the beginning rushed in the manga adaptation? cause while i get the whole "frog in a well" and "don't put yourself down, you might not be as bad as you think you are" schtick the author is going with, it's just impossible for him to be viewed favorably by other people while his party treat him like trash. Unless he's a shut in who never interact with other people, which is impossible for an occupation like an adventurer.
Most japanese authors are a shut in. Never interact with people irl.
So most japanese mc are like them, with a bit of twist.
It can be said that it's bit of self insert.
