Thanks for the chapter, but wow this manga is really kind of screwing things up compared to the LN. I know you kind of need to compress things a bit, but right now they really seem to be speedrunning things.

In the novel they spend a lot longer slowly exploring the maze. It's a lot of page count, but Note finally gets to step-up and use those skills he's been training to keep them both safe and undetected. I know the manga mentions "last few days", but in the novel it's 2 solid months of having to live in the maze before they gamble on trying to evade the boss.

@Vaan_Aura One page one I feel like pessimistic would be better than defeatist, although I've never translated a manga before so I'm not sure if it would fit.

@Nemo2342 that makes much more sense. A few days? Coming from the chick who pushed the shit out of him during training? Feels so out of character.

dishearten verb

dis·heart·en | \ (ˌ)dis-ˈhär-tᵊn \
disheartened; disheartening; disheartens
Definition of dishearten
transitive verb
: to cause to lose hope, enthusiasm, or courage : to cause to lose spirit or morale
were disheartened by the news

"defeatist" kind of sticks out, IMHO

As a friend of mine once said:
"If you have to explain why you put the word there, it's probably wrong."
(or at least there are better options to choose)
