what are the odds some of them survived this actually? since he did remove the poison debuff before casting berserk onto the paralyzed bodies. while most enemies died to this before, i feel at some point some character with some heavy regeneration, or another supportive passive effect, might just survived this. some of them just falling after coughing up blood just isn't a clear enough death for me.

The MC is smart and thorough. He's the sort to always make sure that his opponent is dead.

Maybe, but I thought that the status effects didn't go away until either he removed them himself or the enemy dies.
No, I think that they all have durations on them.
  • I think they all have durations on them, so potentially it might time out before killing them.
  • His skills do track how many targets they're actively applied to. But if a skill timed out, then the active count would drop. So skill use count is not a guaranteed indicator.
  • He also tracks exp, but killing humans don't give exp, so that wouldn't help.
So I can't entirely rule it out, but it would require that the MC so pre-occupied that he doesn't have time to make sure the opponent is dead.

Revenge, huh.

What about justice? Entire tribes exterminated calls for some pretty hefty justice.

And then there's the good old "Mad Dog" Theorem. It's a very simple litmus: how likely is it that the POS you're dealing with is going to keep on harming others? Depending on how strong that likelihood is, it's probably for the best to put them down right away than regret not doing so when you had the chance.

Honestly, I don't typically like to dehumanize people, even the villains. After all, I was a victim of that myself. (I won't go into details, not because I don't want to, but because this isn't the place for it.)

But these guys... they were about as bad as could be. There was very little of them that resembled "humanity". In fact, what little there was? It was a horrific perversion of humanity. This much was born out the moment they started to betray each other.

They were mad dogs in the truest sense. And mad dogs need to be put down.

Sadly, the world he lives in is a kennel of rabid dogs because that Vicus is a breeder and spreader of their hatred. So, many more to be taken down, and lastly will be Vicus herself. I hope she has trillions in HP, so the poison-paralyze will take a long time to deplete her strength.
