I find the naming for the different tiers rather sus. A 5 star is a Sword Emperor and a 4 star Mage Queen while the lowly 3 star is an Archer God.

It's back when Allen started the effort to save the elves. He made a deal with Rozen.
At first he asked if they could change 'difficulty' (to raise level cap) but was denied.
So Rozen promised to raise people's 'star level' by 1 in exchange for resetting back to lv 1, and only up to 4 star class (and after saving the elves, he added that one person can go to 5 star i.e. Kurena here)

So it's basically just something of a divine intervention thing from the Gods (well, Rozen and Elmia so far, the latter giving Hermios class up to 6 stars)

To get to floor 5:
Get 5 medals of each type.
Defeat at least 1 of EVERY floor bosses (yes, those S-rank monsters Allen group's retreated from too)
