Would have to suspend your disbelief for that one, but at least in the first chapter they show him attempting to construct rudimentary sentences within 6 days of his arrival. In the third chapter they reveal that it had been several months since his confinement so we can estimate he’s been a resident for over half a year now.

We also can't rule out the fact that our hito here might be an actual genius, too. We never get into his head, so the details regarding his specific origins are very murky, but I'd imagine that he would have to be extremely competent if it was an intentional decision that he'd be traveling alone in his ship to represent humanity.

There are a bunch of unrealistic presuppositions we'd have to make if a singular japanese astronaut was the only one to be able to make it to this planet. That and the culture and habits of that astronaut are fairly indistuingiushable from a modern japanese man. There might unironically be more mongolians than japanese people by the point we are even capable of interstellar travel, if these ethnic groups even exist at all! I don't see why japan would be uniquely capable and responsible for this mission.

I dont see how the astronaut of a solo mission being Japanese is unrealistic. Nor would it be unrealistic if he was off any other nationality for that matter. Space exploration is a fairly international thing even today. And for this to be even remotly possible it would have to be the case here also. So him being Japanese doesnt mean its a Japanese mission.....................................

And for him being the only one? To this one planet out off billions of others? It was explained in previous chapters that he was not the only one. Just the only one sent here.

IF Kemo were to start hating and killing eachother, they would have done so before.
