I have never had pound cake. I am curious if they are really that good.

It is interesting that Pauline has a section being covered; I wonder what it is.

Here's the link for the side story! (LINK) I promise it's actually the side story and not another prank.
It’s always fun seeing from the book beast‘s retainers’ perspective. Ty for the sidestory.

They never neglect to prepare for the worst and somehow things can be worse, poor them.

Human development is closely tied to food. Even America was (re)discovered, because the Ottoman Empire took over constatinople, reducing the flow of spices to Europe.

From what i remember she should be Frenbeltag (neighbor duchy to Ehrenfest with archduke couple which are siblings to Sylvester and Florencia) dorm supervisor

These kids probably dont get much in the way of sweets, so it makes sense they'd be crazy about it, but pound cake is honestly very mid compared to the variety of different sweets we as modern people get to try all the time. It was my favorite as a child for the reason!

It's very moist, dense, and buttery, and contains an entire cup of sugar! You can't even reduce the amount because it's necessary to help cream the butter. It's a very simple and sweet dessert that goes perfect with jams and coffees!

They are good, but they are definitely not a light food, given the amount of sugar and butter used in them.
The top nobles describe it as a light food only because the "normal" luxury food is literally balls of sugar. As for the poor nobles, they just don't get to eat sweets at all...

I hope everyone fell for my April Fools joke in the previous comment section :hearts:

As a side note, this side story in the manga is directly followed by the side story in Fanbook 3, called "A secret tour of the library, that shows the tour of the library by Brunhilde, Leonore and Philine.

That seems normal, I wonder why they sensor it.

I can't help but assume that Fraularm's brand of "sociology" would be the Yurgenshmidt equivalent of phrenology
