Hamamatsu isn't in the North. It's halfway between Kyoto and Tokyo. She'd be right at the edge of the bear's range assuming she didn't go super far into the mountains.

Kenta-san to the rescue?

I don’t think I’ve had proper French toast I tried once but failed, would’ve been nice in a classroom environment but at this point I’d rather pay if it’s not like the frozen eggo kind (altho other than like a a waffle house I wouldn’t be surprised if French toast as an option would be pricier than a crepe despite the simplicity)
There are several versions. My country's version uses a specific bread (unsalted), soaks the bread in a mixture of egg and milk, fries it. After frying, remove the excess oil with a paper towel, then sprinkle with sugar mixed with cinnamon powder. It's a typical dish for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. We call it rabanada. Some people fill it with nutella, but I think it's a crime. Freshly fried is good, but it's better the next day, like pizza.

Well, this is odd. How cold are we talking about here. A fairly standard synthetic bag keeps you alive down to +0C. She has a blanket on top. I presume she has a pad underneath, which is a big contributor to the heat loss (she needs to wrap the blanket under if she's on the ground). If she's on a pad, she can go down to -5C easily.

I use 2 pads actually: a sturdy Army surplus pad and then Z-rest on top. That lets me stay in tent easily through November in Nevada in an Army surplus bag. I used to have a standard 32F bag before.

A real storm is big problem though, because of the danger of water intrusion if the tent is not set up correctly. Maybe that's what we're getting for the next chapter.

Depends on the menu, places I’ve been to tend towards pricier french toast, but that’s because they add fruits to the french toast to bump up the price. Rare to see a place serve just plain french toast.
yeah that makes sense since it's just bread & egg wash, tho i'd expect it to come as a set with like bacon and eggs instead of it on its own as opposed to a place that can do a deep quick fry bread or so like some ppl making churros to order tho over all other than attempting to make it on my own or a slightly 'nicer' ver than frozen eggos that you can get at a grocery store i'd probably just want it as like a sandwich instead of on its own the same way there are croissantwitches.

Beignets would be good too tho def not able to do in comparison to ppl who grew up making them lol

Wait, rabanada is a version of french toast?

This is just pure sexism. Men do the same thing, too. For example, my uncle went out drinking and forgot the time. My aunt got worried and called him to ask where he was. His drinking buddies for whatever reasons started to bash my uncle, saying that he was afraid of his wife, his wife was too controlling, and that if he was a real man, he should put his wife in her place. Being drunk makes people do the stupidest thing, my uncle went home and gave my aunt a black eye for "humiliating" him in front of his friends.
It is likely those so-called friends were jealous of the happy family.
