Honestly wonder where this is heading. The intro to the series makes it look like she fails to stop the murder game. But these current chapters make it seem like he really won't kill Mai, just everyone else getting in their way. Only time will tell.

So like, yes, but as far as i can remember he did that after she decided “this kid is a freak” and generally just went around going “hey this child is insane”, which was a problem for him. Not saying it’s any less twisted, but it’s definitely still a lack of support. There were other ways to handle that.

I like the changes to the story. You can really feel/relate to how and why Makoto falls for Mai this way.

It brings out the contrast between Makoto's mother who thinks of him as an inhuman monster incapable of feelings, vs Mai, who just treats him like a normal person and thinks he might be into porn lol. Even if it's a lie.
