though that is possible, it just felt like they were dumb, they didn't even seem tired at all. The girl was running quite slowly at first, with a flask in her hand, and they knew that every well so far was poisoned, meaning that they had enough reason to fully understand the situation despite their severe conditions.
And they even realized that the "kids" were the ones who poisoned the wells. At that point, I(if I was one of the soldiers) would probably be going berserker, because my comrades are suffering because of some "kids". they were expecting to die for their country, but now they are a burden, maybe some weaker soldiers even died. And said kids were planning to destroy our only hope? Nope, not happening. Rather I find strange not desire revenge in these situations, humans are quite emotional you know. They were more concentrated in looking down on the girl than taking their revenge or anything else.
But they just threw some empty threats and didn't even unsheath their swords until the girl finally jumped in the well. And theeen, they unsheathed their swords and ran to kill the "kids". Their reactions are just way too strange to me, but of course, I was just mumbling to myself, no need to pay attention. But, well, you never know, some people are just way to unpredictable, can't do anything about that.
