It feels like the story skipped some information relevant to Kahu and our MC, maybe they'll explain it further in future chapters... But as it is, it just feels very disconnected and strange, like.. when did their engagement end in either timeline? did he just suddenly forget all about her in the previous timeline when she was turned in to a sword?
I understand that she has no feelings for him considering to her she has spent over 400 years living in torture and anger is pretty much all she has left in her... but as smart as she is, she should be aware that it isn't so for the rest of the world and him wanting to keep in touch with her is completely reasonable if they were engaged (and it didn't break off with heavy negative feelings).

Maybe I missed a chapter somewhere? I didn't even remember the moment he told her he was a returnee, it just started this chapter with him narrating his story, but was he telling her that story instead? I'm confused at that...

@nobile I agree! It does feel like something is missing. I don't think he explicitly told her that he's also repeating time, but she mentioned him also going back. Maybe a panel or two is missing from the raws? As for their engagement, my understanding is that they were engaged in the past, but she turned into the sword and went "missing". In this timeline, I'm thinking maybe they hadn't gotten engaged yet, or hadn't announced yet or something. Manhwa can be so unnecessarily vague sometimes

I hate the royal family for what they did to her. They took a beautiful, happy girl and turned her into the cold shell she is today. I hope the ml can help revive her spirit and make her happy again.😢 And I guess now we see that Kahu did reincarnate but I wonder how. Was it his own doing when he was searching for her in the last timeline, or did her wish allow them both to come back. Either way him returning too must be important for her end goal then.

@Mickt2019 They are being vague and talking around certain topics basically in order to not give up anything concrete because they're not sure of the other. Trust issues and nobles talking passively. It doesn't make direct mention, but part of it could also be them being in public so anyone could walk up suddenly.

About Kahu in the first timeline

He was one of the few people who were always looking for her when she disappeared. The emperor didnt say anything of course to him so he never found out i think from what i remember about the novel. He was probably the best guy in charlizes first life tbh.

Poor Kahu, it sounds like she had a good relationship with him in the past, but if she wants to destroy the empire she can’t be getting married, especially if she cares about him. I also feel bad that he seems to only have a vague sense that things are repeating, but not enough to stop things from happening. Maybe it was the gods way of repaying him for always caring about Charlize

I feel bad for him, he still seems to care for her quite a lot but there's no room for him in her heart... and not even due to his choices/actions/fault 😕
