Imagine if the landlord was guy who forcibly moved into his tenant's apartment and said you could just sleep with me for rent.

Manga premises can be pretty damn weird if you think about it.

Yeah, the premise is pretty awful. I'm trying to forget about the premise because of the promise of yuri.

Yeah the premise... I give it a 90% chance nothing actually happened that night and she lied about it after MC couldn't remember for some silly reason but that still is a pretty bad start. You could have the same by here just offering to live together to cut costs weird with a stranger but whatever. Well I guess without the benefits checkmark thing but I don't thing that really is necessary.

It hard to understand this plot. Is it an offensive to mistake a friend with a partner?

@yurirei No she was probably offended by the "one of them" comment.
As if queer people are somehow in a different category to 'regular' humans.

Of course the fact that she is so immediately offended by it is probably meant to be a case of the "I'm actually super the gay and I never realised it" trope that yuri and yaoi tend to overuse rather than just being a decent person who cares about her young gay friend's mental well-being.

I viewed this as Ms. Landlady is upset that she was randomly outed, and Kozuka noticed that the conversation was making her uncomfortable. I figured that’s where the “What the heck?” came from.

This. Though I am guessing there is a bit more to it then that, either something happened at school or she was a crush of hers, she was uneasy as soon as she saw the girl.

I think this is one of the few times when a random ex-classmate showing up and being open minded instead of homophobic is what causes the conflict.

@KZO except that you're not supposed to talk freely about someone's sexual preference or past in from of her friend who might or might not know about it ... In fact, she was politely trying to cut the conversation short. I wouldn't call her open minded so fast.

Anyway, fuck ... the date was going so well :s too bad

@BasedYuri yep.

There is one series where the premise is the female mc bf in middle school attempted to rape her and then turned the whole school against her when she tried to say something until she had to transfer out and causing her to go through a 180 personality switch. Now in HS she suffers from ptsd and the ex bf starts stalking her again and even having her kidnapped where she is almost gangraped. This story is billed as a romantic comedy. Seriously rape,stalking,kidnapping, and some serious ptsd are used as the premise for a comedy...

Though that series was originally a LN I believe.
