I remember starting this series and being shocked at how much of a bully Nagatoro was. And now these two nerds are trying to plan a kiss like they’re embarrassed about the whole thing

That said, I’m not sure if 774 is drawing this out because they’re having fun doing it or because they think that when they draw the kiss, it’ll be over. And to that I’m thinking “sure it’s been seven years and you could definitely take a break, but we haven’t even gotten to the uncensored v*ginal s*x arc yet…”
Well, it's Nanashi we're talking about. If we ever get sex in this manga it will be between Nagatoro and either some based faceless NTR man or an animal.

Why didn't they just continue what they do in hot spring before?

Firstly, I had to triple check the bust he was drawing. The first image of it the head appears to be facing directly forward. The very next it appears to be turning to look at Nagatoro. The only way I could convince myself that this wasn't intentional was because his drawing of it was at that angle.

Secondly, this is a Japanese manga we are talking about that isn't tagged as Erotica, and very rarely lives up to it's suggestive tag. Expecting sex is just hoping for something you won't get. And considering the genre and the vast majority of Japanese manga like it, expecting progress (or, rather, Western speed and style of progress) is also wishful thinking.
This clearly ain't To Love Ru for ecchi, and I can't think of a "love comedy" (that isn't tagged erotica) with rapid progress. Please do correct me, I would love to read it.

It's fun to joke about Semetoro banging Paisen like a drum, but this is a lot more likely to be the reality. I mean -- not even To Love Ru actually went all the way, did they? (Correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while.)

Titles like Horimiya and Lv 999 Yamada-kun are nice… but they're the exception, not the rule. (And not even they go anywhere near uncensored.)
