Heh. This chapter got quite a few laughs out of me.
There's this weird defiance of tropes, for starters. Like, not hard subversions, but small things that bypass the annoying stuff. Our childhood friend draws rational conclusions, but doesn't make assumptions without confirmations. There's no beating around the bush for the love triangle.
And above all, we're reminded of how lovably stupid the whole cast is with a big ol' recap.
Rinko is a total late bloomer, ditz, and oddball, and that's wonderful.
I hope they do become proper friends.
