@Psychronia so the bullies were admonishing marietta (blunt bangs) because of her bad manners, then MC interferes. MC says that it's admirable that the bullies are trying to improve marietta's manners by giving her advice (absolutely false BS but it's a way to appeal to the bullies), but the harsh way they're doing it will hurt marietta more than help her (basically MC is telling the bullies to back off and chill). MC mentions clarise (big boss lady) as a way to protect herself since the bullies use clarise as an excuse to bully marietta.

clarise recognizes MC's really good deflection skills ("you sure are good with your words"), and just tells MC and marietta to be more attentive in the future. they are only at a tea party with court ladies now, but when they are out in society their manners must be flawless or else the two girls will be shameful. clarise is not outright hostile to either the bullies or marietta/MC, but she makes sure marietta/MC are aware of this distinction.

finally, the MC praises clarise for being a true noble lady for maintaining such poise despite her rather harsh words.

Those who say it's not the MC... I'm 99% sure it's the MC. Because, you know, she's called main character for a reason.

I feel like the MC is not going to end up being "that little girl". I think it's probably Clarise (because boss Knight is spying on her, and they're both blondes).

I usually don't mind some drama but for this story, I sort of want the the MC to just go around making friends and maybe helping the Prince find whoever it is that he is trying to find (so she could be the Court Lady and end up with Jade).

@Psychronia, @sketchy333 you missed a very important nuance. Clarisse initially chastised the clumsy girl, and THEN her band of troublemakers started using it to bully her.

BUT, when pressed by the main character, Clarisse reveals that she was making a point - in high society, away from this group, there would be actual repercussions at - for example - a tense diplomatic soiree. You could start a war by splatting your cake in someone's face.

Clarisse is being incredibly harsh, because she is trying to teach, not because she is being a bitch. Because of that, all the bullies rally around her. But it looks like she has other people's best interests in mind, she's just misunderstood and hasn't got rid of the bully posse that's ruining her reputation.

As for Clarisse, she's... how to say... she's proper. And she's probably a perfectionist and expect the same from everyone else. BUT. She's a bit on the harsh side. And I'm not sure she had good intentions. She is proper and indifferent, and a little harsh. If she wasn't so harsh, I'd probably like her. Now I just want to keep her at an arm's distance the closest.

these are quick spoilers I think the general idea is correct. The prince met Riina 7 years ago and has been looking for her, when they were kids the ring bloomed but Riina thought it was just a magic trick

Riina is adopted into Teresse family and gets engaged to the prince

Jade proposes to Teresse but at first disguises it as a job to entice her (instead of signing papers they use a ring)

Teresse is engaged to Jade
