severe communication problems that are at complete odds with the established personalities of the characters since day one so what was supposed to be fluffy has turned into total drama island

this has widely been acknowledged to have been unnecessary and a terrible decision (by the fans)
Sono Bisque Doll sucks because the story doesn't have any identity. Romance surrounding cosplay, romance progresses, drop romance for a year and focus on the intricacies of just cosplay with a whole bunch of new characters (in a couple of chapters I couldn't even tell the characters apart), forced drama when the mangaka realizes the audience finds cosplay by itself boring and needs to keep the manga going. It is clear she is out of ideas. She should end the manga but the lewd figurines of Marin sell like hotcakes. So really the manga is an advertisement for lewd figurines at this point.

People who are yapping about the story,do you all not read the description? This is the adaptation of a novel. As in, the author isn't the one writing it.jesus fuck you people make me want to commit lobotomy on myself.

From what I see, Maruto Fumiaki is the author of the novel and the manga. Also, the novel was updated simultaneously with the new chapter drop, so no one other than Maruto knows how it's going to turn out.

Oh, sheesh! It only took one chapter for people to start calling Hikari delusional, labeling her a stalker, and criticizing her for acting like a tsundere sometimes.

MC is the textbook definition of unreliable narrator. We've never seen what the dude is actually thinking/feeling or even his past self when they were separated in highschool. Just like the readers, MC as well were assuming he was ready to be picked up in his corner for all these years till MC realised her feelings after not seeing him as a man for years. Now she needs to understand that he was also living his life during those days and he has a past.

Guess we'll find out in the next few chapters. If it's as I mentioned, where Yuu realized that he liked his childhood friend, and not Ami, which is why he broke things off with Ami, the title of this manga could equally apply to Yuu as it does to Hikari (assuming Hikari no longer likes him after seeing this or something).

I would love to see it go like Mulholland Drive. The narrator switches to Ta-kun. Hikari is revealed as an unreliable narrator. Ta-kun views her as a friend and all of these "events" are just normal friend stuff in the background while the focus of the story becomes his relationships in his high school, which have never been revealed other than the kouhai. He meets Aya through a cram school and they fall in love only for her to dump him for no apparent reason. All the while, he is hardly paying attention to the stuff with Hikari other than it being a diversion from his pain. He goes out with kouhai on the rebound and because he is popular at school but it doesn't work as he has to be honest with his feelings. He's clueless as to why Hikari acts weird sometimes as they're supposed to be friends. He doesn't want to go to HIkari's school fair because he wants to avoid Aya but he needs an answer so he goes back to the classroom after getting a note from Aya when HIkari was not paying attention. He demands an answer from her but she says its because of her best friend Hikari at which time he says that Hikari is just a childhood friend. She then kisses him.

I have so many questions...

First of all, how could Hikari, who’s been Ta-kun’s childhood friend and neighbor, not know that Aya-chan is his ex-girlfriend? It seems Ta-kun never mentioned it—why?

Second, how is Aya-chan 18 years old and still in the same class as Hikari?

Third, Aya-chan, are you really sure that Hikari is your best friend? You knew about her feelings for Ta-kun and that you had a past with him, yet you didn’t tell her. Why did you kiss him despite knowing about Hikari’s plans? I’m struggling to see how their friendship can survive this.

Finally, Mr. Author, why introduce NTR into a story that’s been fluffy and wholesome? And don’t try to tell me it’s not NTR.

Thanks for the chapter!
It's literally not ntr.

The timeline of events rally doesn't line up with this idea. The author/poster (and others in this thread) pointed out that Aya figured out that Yuu was Hikari's crush back when the latter two went to the amusement park "date". If Yuu was together with Aya at the time, what would he constantly hang out with Hikari during this time in their rooms? Also, if he was the one who was dumped, wouldn't he want to find an excuse to go to her school to seek Aya for an answer?

Also, in regards to your hate on Sono Bisque Doll, lol after the latest chapter. At least that comment section blew past this one for a good reason.

Here's my impression of 95% of commenters:

AHHAHhHhhh BOOHOO MY MANGA THAT HAS NO STAKES OR CONFLICT HAS SOME DRAMA INJECTED INTO IT NOOOOO IM SHAKING AND CRYING RN WAAAAAHHHHHHH WAHHHH I NEED MY MOMMY TO CHANGE MY DAIPY

like stfu and roll with the drama this shit is exactly what I needed after reading all the fluffy saccharine escapism shit you guys apparently like to read
This is not just drama, this is a change in genre.
People pick a certain manga expecting certain feelings and tones, you can just say "fuck" and change it but you WILL receive a backlash
