Honestly, after this flashback ends, I'm just curious to see how FMC will respond. I mean, it's true she hadn't been really progressing their relationship, even after she realized her feelings, and that happened WAAAAAAAAY after MC lost his virginity to someone who wasn't even his first love.

As shitty as this story's progression has been going since that sudden reveal, putting aside that weird edgy red herring(?) of that bitch's home situation, there's this weird sense of realism for how some high school romantic/sexual relationships usually go being reflected in this arc.

I'm sure this is being compared to other works of art when someone says it sucks. Without a frame of reference no one can claim something is good or bad.

Anyways, this story would count as NTR, just because some people here are so fascinated with Yami it doesn't change at some point this narrative was told from a different POV and right now it's just spinning the knife in the wound of that character's POV.

So, this isn't NTR. But the reason people are using that term is because regardless of what it is, it gives the same feeling of NTR to some readers. So NTR is the closest people can come to express their feelings on the matter. At the very least you people who are shouting "It's not NTR" can try to understand that.

Controversy sells but sells more in the long run when it is well-written and cohesive. This is neither but should be fine for the short-run. It's like Frieren and MT. Frieren gets the normies because it is a vanilla story that hits the fantasy beats well so its hits are great initially but MT wins the long game because its character writing, relationships and plot are more engaging even if it is controversial. Hemmingway made a career doing this. His first book was his most controversial and was banned in several countries but it is still his best-selling book of all time. Hemmingway's own mother called The Sun Also Rises trash when it came out.
