I feel frustrated that this shit has to take so long. Because while it is understandable why it would, it's so frustrating to know that, since he wasn't open to his childhood friend in telling her "I like a girl I met recently", she ends up getting blindsided by the Culture Festival thing.

Also the two of them definitely seem nice enough together, and the girl childhood friend was the one to miss the opportunity first. So I can't say shit about her when it is clear which girl has the more intimate relationship with him.

I think Ayami figured it out at some point? She did mentioned she tried to avoid seeing Yuu at first and seemed to try to back off for Hikari (that's why she was nowhere to be seen in the cafe when Yuu came) but then, unclear if it's by chance or change of heart, she eventually met Yuu in the classroom and couldn't resist kissing him.

I mean, Ayami really has to put in extra effort because:

1. Yuu has feelings for another girl, and Ayami is aware of it.
2. They’ve already had sex, effectively skipping the entire courtship and seduction process.

Plus, it’s not like Hikari isn’t trying; she’s just very inexperienced. In contrast, Ayami is portrayed as experienced (even though she was made a virgin for… reasons).

I read this manga, reread again after the reveal, analyzed per page, realized that the web novel have more info than here, reread the wn thru deepTL, and finally reread again after learning someone from NU picked this up.

I read this 4 times already and somehow, more information keeps appearing. Am I a schizo? Maybe. But goddamn, this is worth discussing.

Yes, she found out, but it seems it was only in chapter 11 after she saw Yuu's name in the group chat. My point is that she had some information from Yuu about Hikari while they were dating. Furthermore, since she considers Hikari her best friend and knows her well, it seems odd that she didn’t even entertain the possibility that Hikari could be the girl Yuu was talking about before seeing Yuu's name in the group chat. I mean, are there really that many first-year girls who fit Hikari's profile?
