Frankly I’m half expecting a character assassination at this point. Like the author suddenly decides to make her secretly a huge bitch or something just so it’s “justified” that she kisses Yuu

Least we get Hikari back, love a good reminder that Yami will continue to be a horrible person when she befriends and later absolutely betrays her.

Eh, I think it's fairly realistic and wasn't all that intentional given that Aya is self destructive and didn't really want to break up w/ Yuu and isn't over him.

Wonder if this friendship is basically gonna be that Hikari has all of Yuu's purity and sunshine but also a backbone so she's gonna persist/pursue Aya.

The relationship happened before Yami knew Hikari so there isn't really a stabbing going on here. The worst thing that happened was that she didn't tell Hikari immediately once she connected the dots but it's not really a malicious action.
