No, chapter 11 is when she first finds out during the group chat. It's easy to miss but she had no idea about Hikari and Yuu knowing each other.

So why did we have the first 21 chapters start the series? So we could know exactly what was going to happen ahead of time and be disappointed in how we got there?

There is no suspense, there is bad character development, and whichever character isn't present in the current arc we care less and less about them.

It just feels like this is a lesson in how not write a story properly.

I feel like my interest is fading away. Like the author lit a spark in the present day story, but then shows us all this stuff that doesn't really convince me to wait for the explosion. I guess this is partly why people hate flashbacks so much... making your story a flashback is kinda risky.

No she hasn't - the guy bailed the first time she tried, then she hooked up w/ Yuu, then she was at home w/ her mom, then this episode. Aya pretending to be edgy is like her whole thing - including this "joke".
