...But just some months (about a year?) ago he became the boyfriend of another girl, got far enough in the relationship that they lost their virginity with each other, and then he got dumped by his GF, and now back to the present the girl that kissed him is his ex-GF.
He doesn't mention anything of this to Hikari, which yeah, is private so its normal. But it just happens that Hikari saw the kiss, and he confessed to her as quick as he could after that.
So yeah, it looks very bad from her perspective as if he were just playing with her feelings.
So yeah, there's misunderstandings, and there's also lies (by omission) involved
