There better be a good backstory to explain why she is being so clingy.
"In middle school I wore glasses and people bully me and stuff 😭😭😭😭😭" same old roast able Gyaru.

Also the mc should just flat out tell her that he's Inlove with aoi instead of waiting for 15 chapters for him to realize and have 4 more chapters of him trying to find the girl and tell his feelings ☠️

Eiji tried to subtly reject Hoshino, yet she refused to accept it. Damn, this girl is way too annoying. Aoi's not a bad girl, in fact she adapts to Eiji's wants. Hoshino on the other hand, is way too pushy. The fact that Eiji still pines for Aoi should say something.

I feel bad for Aoi, she just kept getting dissed. She probably has no idea how to respond to someone like Hoshino. Everyone's always nice to her, after all.

Stop being such a doormat, Eiji. Where's the spine he had standing up to Shigeru?

I hate that he's not making any real effort to shake Hikari off. He's actually stated in this chapter that he even tried to enjoy this situation (that's veering off dangerously close to cheating territory - he is technically engaged, after all). I'd dock him fictional points for this and for giving the girl he loves a hard time. Imagine if Aoi was passively allowing Shigeru to cling to her like this and mentally trying to enjoy the attention from two boys.

Boundaries are 404 not found here and it's not good.

Oh I do hate these clingy characters so much...
there is nothing more annoying than cheeky little kouhais or sisters that just annoy the shit outta everyone and showcase how weak willed and lame the MC actually is. Like every MC that can't properly say no instantly feels like a lame puppet to me and I do not enjoy reading such stuff.

They even call it out, if he just said, stop touching me she would stop, but he doesn’t. That’s shouldn’t be directed at the main character, that should be the directed at the author. He’s the one who wrote them that way.

Also addressing every issue in a single in a monologue at the end of an arc is a new trope in romance mangas I am seeing. The MC will bravely stand up and sum up all the problems of the last few issues, while the girl are all stary eyed “whoa you looked so cool right now”. It’s a new trope for herbivores where they finally get the spine.

I know the author thinks they’re being subversive by having an aggressive gal have a tragic backstory. I guess he doesn’t read much current stuff.
I agree this entire kouhai section is as generic and cliche as it gets and I am so annoyed by it

You know what I don't like about this whole setup? It feels like the MC is only going for Aoi because she came along first. Like, if the kouhai had done the exact same routine, but like a couple of weeks earlier, he'd have been dating her and rejecting Aoi instead. Cause there's like nothing special about his relationship with either one of them. The extent of his romance with Aoi is like her going "kya kya I like you so much" and making him lunch and liking his light novels, and him being like "hurr durr I don't like when others judge me but she likes light novels like a nerd so maybe I like her too?!?"
