It is always nice to hear the struggles and intricacies of translation, since they usually bring up really specific or interesting details of how the language works or how the idioms are construed, and it's always appreciated to see the effort put into it.
Also, the translation on that idiom felt more like incredible recklessness and lack of sense, so I guess it kind-of works in a way.
