I would have gone with "packed meal" for him and the sister (since he is expecting some sort of traveling rations), while keeping "bento" for the other that seem to recognize Nobu's dishes. And definitely change "karaage" with "fried stuff": there's no way he could recognize the chicken in that form, let alone knowing how it is called in Japan...

The thing is, it's not "our" Medieval Europe, but a fantasy world that "coincidentally" resembles a Medieval European setting.

In this same universe, there's another manga called "Isekai Izakaya Gen", which tells the story of another Japanese restaurant that got isekai'd in this same world, but in different country, implying that perhaps it wasn't Nobu who introduced the bentos to this world, maybe there are other isekai'd Japanese restaurants that brought the bentos before.
I recall in one installment there is a listing of mysterious restaurants that have appeared and disappeared in their world. The spy agencies were tasked with researching them. It's a surprising number.

I hope that the disappearances were not at the whim of a kami, but perhaps because the restaurant engaged in some transgression, such as trying to introduce gunpowder or maybe excessive arbitrage of silver coins. Gen and Nobu are pious and attentive to make offerings at their respective kamidama, pleasing the foxes of Inari (Gen even was asked to make a specific meal for one). Keeping humble, doing good, and making offerings of inarizushi and prayer are probably the keys to staying in the other world.

There are some brief mentions, like a customer saying "ah, I have an acquaintance in Aitheria who mentioned a dish similar to this", or something like that. But yeah, they are connected.
Chapter 29 of Izakaya Gen has the gourmet minstrel poet mention Izakaya Nobu by name. The last page of that chapter also has a convenient map of the continent with the locations of both Gen and Nobu in their respective kingdoms!

Black and red lacquered boxes. Clearly for this occasion they didn't go with a local box, but instead got Japanese ones.
