Alright alright gonna be honest and do a hot take here.

The guy has extremely good reasons for acting this way considering the fact that there was recently a huge accident involving people who didn't know their limits and plus he was actually one of those who was actually useful. So from his perspective, a level 1 entering the Special Class definitely looks like a repeat of that situation, plus it might be another ploy from the higher ups sending in students to the meat grinder.
He's justified in wanting to know if the new guy can pull his weight and not be another trouble maker like the dreadlocks girl.

MC is actually the one being immature and at fault here despite having more experience and actually he of all people should know why the guy is acting this way.
Extremely disappointed that the author wrote the MC like this(for a gag?). I mean how is he any different than his childhood friend blasting his killing intent? In fact it's worse since he knows it could kill them.

Yes the MC did a good job previously with saving the students and punishing those that abuse the adventure traits. But it still doesn't give him the right to do this stunt.

What the fuck author.
Why are you disappointed that the author wrote some flaws into his MC? He should be commended for that, instead.

All worth it for the hug from that hottie. Kinda disappointed that he only fainted and didn’t piss himself though.

The MC has the mind of a 20-something-year-old, body of a teenager, the body is less inhibited with age and is armed with the knowledge, experience, and skills of a 10-year veteran. Of course, since he was isekai'd as a teenager, it's not like he's mentally and emotionally matured in the 10 years away. He was essentially made to be a child soldier so any "growing up" by our standards as civilians in a peaceful world was put on hold.

I think the point is to show a growing flaw in the MC. That he has anger issues. We saw in the prior chapters that he doesn't take much shit. Rather he's prone to just shutting down and bluntly "solving" the issues at hand.

See: his use of hypnosis to solve the principle issue; his initial refusal to help the dungeon exposition and; the way he handled the whole killing intent thing with his childhood friend.

The scene was done to highlight the flaws with how he solves issues on a minor scale. (It is also there to characterise the new class).

Pretty satisfying chapter, ngl. Especially how MC was ramping it up.
Was his "4th level" the same one he used to kill all those monsters? If so, class, probably whole school owe that female a life debt. Kek

Thanks for the TL

I'd agree with you but there's a disturbing problem to this, and it's that so far the story and characters have not addressed the issue of whether or not the MC has gone too far or not.

This is the first instance of the MC actually going too far, nearly killing the guy. The chapter ends with it seemingly being brushed under the rug with the MC showing minimal remorse to nearly killing a guy.
Though if the next chapters would address these issues then I'd take it back.

Like how would you feel if a guy who could kill you with his killing intent and has trouble controlling his emotions was around you?
We'd probably live in fear of that guy.

Wow, Wu is winning the Ryojibowl right now. Man was in tears, and she was there to comfort him.
I guess Takeshi was the arrogant but kind type. The characters that use harsh language but actually wants to keep people safe. A yankee behavior that govern by his class (high class healer type I believe.)
Yeah. Saying this in hindsight ofc, but this was foreshadowed. He could have went inside the dungeon with Wu/Isabella/Ayano during the RST event, but instead decided to remain outside so that he could heal as many people as he could. He had the same personality then.

People are saying he’s acting childish and should know better because he’s actually 26, but he didn’t spend those extra 10 years like a normal person. How much more mature would you be if you were treated like a battle bitch every day for 10 years without a break? When did he have time and environment to become emotionally mature? Rather he was conditioned to decisively solve problems in the most effective way possible because to do otherwise would mean his death.

Yeah, why would he need approval from that rando?

"If you run away, it'll become a habit."
Nice return.

Wu best girl.

It went as people predicted. He ded. RIP, you'll be missed by few.

I see your point, but I disagree, and I wouldn't call it a hot take. He's justified in wanting to know, but not to demand proof of it, because that's not his responsibility.

MC is immature, but we know he's not the best people-person out there. He has severe social skill issues. But in this case, he did what was asked of him. Taking a bit further than Takeshi wanted is a little bit justified due to his crap attitude, though you can argue specifics. It's not like with idiot girl, since she's clueless and incapable of handling her powers, while MC clearly is.

So I'm not saying MC is fully in the right, but it's consistent with how he's been portrayed so far, and indicates growth ahead.

Appreciate him being a real one that was just concerned. Special class is the one group in this a school that’s really been in the trenches and aware of things(unlike cocky a class) so the concern was warranted. Manning up with no bad blood instead of a shoulder chip was nice

The MC's immaturity at times feels like his mind is melding back to what his physical current age is.
Kinda like that one series where a salary man gets reincarnated into a young boy. His knowledge is still there but he is prone to lots of emotions despite having lots of experience having a poker face before reincarnation. Like his emotions gets the better of them before thinking about it rationally/like an adult.

Well at least he wasn't acting arrogant still and how nice of him to let him say hi to his Grandma lol
its always good to see when the character doenst stay arrogant and admits their error
as i said previously chapter he wasn't a bad guy at all, he just speaks harshly and wanted to confirm his skills so that he doesnt die in the dungeon

Im glad this guy didnt stay a dickhead, getting set to factory settings made him use his brain
hes a good guy,
just had to act bad in order to see if he really was meant to be in special class

In a novel, and hope in next chapter it was explained that Ken himself at that point was quite pissed off about other who who was higher in rank then him, thanks to principal and vice meddling, but being weaker than him. He is OG member of special class who was standing here by his skills alone, despite corruption.
