How so? Their society has class divisions, and he's choosing to defend the highest caste while they threaten all the lower castes. To me that looks like he's ignoring the interests of his own class to serve the higher one.

I guess he could be a lesser noble, closer to the top than the others. I don't recall if such a thing was ever mentioned. Even so- choosing to stay a Knight or Baron or Duke, whatever he could be, seems worse than letting demons possess the royal family and start the purge. He's betraying his class interests to serve the ruling class. Class traitor.

Unless this world's hierarchy is totally different than RL (no such mention so far), then a knight is a noble, his interests lie solely with the upper class. An argument can be made that he is simply a traitor to his kingdom, since what he's doing is putting it in jeopardy, but that's about it.

No. You really should care if she's a demon. Just for starters, if that's a demon, then unless you're a traitor to your kingdom and species, that's not the royal you swore your loyalty to. Also, given that she imprisoned the king and turned everyone into demons, you're siding with the person who attempted a coup against your kingdom, so really, you're a traitor multiple times over, and did so even after knowing that that's what the situation was.

Hell, for that matter, what's the point of killing the lesser demon soldiers if you're just going to side with their boss? You should have turned traitor right there, or just let them kill you, because even that's less stupid than what you're doing now.
