I feel everyone hating the idea of a redemption arc have never seen a good one, and to be fair media hasn't had a good redemption arc for a character in a very long time so they are validated. Author I have faith in your ability.
Is Circe wrong though? Generally people tend to look out for themselves only in the end so she isn't entirely wrong on that, Elf just got lucky with the people in her life, some of us aren't so lucky.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to go contemplate life and the fact that I agree with her. Maybe get a drink while I'm at it.
Circe's irredeemable. It would be like giving Hitler an redemption arc.
The story is also far too lighthearted to real commit to a "good" redemption arc. Any attempt at redeeming Circe will come across as shallow and hamfisted.
But fortunately, this author is quite competent, so I don't see them going down this route.
What I expect is that Circe will help our heroes while also making it clear that she is still the same psychotic unrepentant monster we know and tolerate. She just happens to now channel her insanity towards something that happens to align with the aims of the good guys.
As for punishment, I expect her to remain a talking head for the forseeable feature. Since Circe sees this more as a minor inconvinience it won't mess with the lighthearted nature of the story, while also ensuring she doesn't get away scot free.
I'm sure the torture revenge porn fans will be upset , but these guys are kinda gross and should be ignored.
