Well, in my country CPR has few variants. One is pure compressions at that 100bpm tempo and other has the artificial respiration, tho I don't remember the tempo for that one.

Point is, the details may vary from country to country.
I'm a professionnal first aid here (Or whatever the English name is. In french, it's "Secouriste") .

In my country, we can do both.

Only for CPR, it's 100 per minutes (+defibrillator).

With artificial respiration, you do 30x2 (30 compression, 2 artificial respiration), and repeat until you got a defibrillator, place it, repeate the CPR, and prepar for the chock, and start again the CPR, until either a doctor tell you to stop and say the hour of death, or until the patient start to breath again

They probably even vary by who is giving the course. ^^
P.s. They have been very consistent in the "No respiration" part for me though over the last 10 years or so, I think. Oh well, no one should come to a manga for real world medical advice anyway and the really important thing is to do anything at all trying to help if it ever gets serious.
It's really meant to be done to the beat of staying alive- 100-120 bpm, also recovery breaths are more so for folks that have a drowning related injury now- or children/infants.
