It turns out that the illustration is placed after Afterword, and I never read the Afterword section. I always close the file when it reaches that part, because I don't think there is another section after that. And the ToC also doesn't mention any illustrations after Afterword.

Other novels usually place color illustrations like this between ToC and Prologue, that's why I always close the file after reaches the Afterword.
Damn... I'll have to check other novels too

Lol, no problem. I'm not sure if it depends on the series or the localization distributor, but some have the color illustrations before the prologue/chapter 1 and others have them at the end of the novel. I think most J-Novel Club releases have them at the end though, but I'd have to check. I don't always read the Afterword either (especially ones where the author kind of rambles), but I always continue to the very end of the book before switching to my next read just in case there's something nice (color illustrations, bonus artist sketch, bonus stories, etc.).

They did not use to, then Amazon started purging series for not meeting their decency standards, or was it the standards of the employee doing the purging.
Iirc it was a bit weird as they took down some series, but left others with worse illustrations untouched.
