I've not read the novels but this is pretty well my take too. She's absolutely NOT innocent here as she has had multiple offramps from this ride but she's also a victim as well having been thoroughly mindfucked by soccer douche.

So while she shouldn't get away without consequences I'm not on team "let's have her redo metamorphosis". She's already starting to see them come down in the form of "don't talk to me or my son ever again" from Momma Bear. Her having to watch and live with knowing she fucked up the best thing in her life will be pretty satisfying.

There is a section in the novel where Ai confronts her and points out that if she did erase herself, she would once again be causing Eiji pain, which did stop her from doing it. So, no matter how hard it gets, I think she will stay on this side of the veil.

I feel bad, because you made a very good comment that takes into account the nuance that's necessary in order to truly evaluate what fate Miyuki deserves to get (including chances for redemption), but the folks here are mostly manga-only, and they will pile on you ruthlessly without having read the source material.

Also, the inherent inflammatory nature of this series (good guy gets cuckolded, his gf's virginity taken by another man, falsely accused of being an abuser, bullying, etc. all the things most people find a visceral disgust and feel pain from) makes it so that this kind of a complex question becomes difficult to discuss without divorcing our personal feelings from it.

Miyuki gets PILED on a LOT in the WB, at every step of the way, even when she continues to blame herself and never tries to deflect blame, they STILL keep shitting on her. Like at some point, you're dealing with a human being, and the torture porn has to stop, they're acting like she just murdered an entire village of children or something irredeemable of that nature.

They're like a mob that wants a head to roll, to see the world burn, without caring whatsoever about offering any semblance of rehabilitation or redemption, so that said person can become a more well-adjusted person and become a net-good to society. They're all just MAD, and simply see her as an outlet for their HATE, even though Miyuki is nowhere CLOSE to being the main villain who started this whole thing.

It's actually rather comical how much shit gets piled on her, despite the fact she's not even the main villain, and was just yet another puppet in the whole shitstorm. It gets to a point where they start to dehumanize her basically, despite the fact that she blames herself MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE, and never tries to deflect blame and fully owns up to what she did.

All of these tough guys here better pray they don't make that one colossal fuck up in their life, and it LITERALLY NEVER gets forgiven nor FORGOTTEN, and they're just never allowed to move on from it in any capacity, regardless of how much they regret and blame themselves over it, basically saying, "the only emotion you can feel from now on, for every second you breathe, is PAIN and nothing else. If you feel even a bit of peace or happiness, you don't deserve it." It's comical levels of revenge-torture porn.

The reparations that costed the whole college fund is because MC's family has been financially helping Miyuki's mom (she's super broke after Miyuki's dad left them to buy milk). It's a good will gesture to "return the money" the help her family got for years because her daughter traumatized & betrayed the son of the family who helped her for years.

Yeah I don't remember this in the WN, like at all. The only thing Miyuki's mom mentioned is that the Aonos let her stay with them from time and time to easy her loneliness, and even fed her (for which Miyuki says she made sure to pay them for), so idk where this supposed "financial aid" they got for years from the Aono family is coming from. It's not at all like Miyuki's mom owes a financial debt to the Aonos.

I think you might be inadvertently embellishing the help Aonos gave to Miyuki's family, making her out to be a bigger villain than necessary. If I have truly forgotten, if you can provide source (WN chapter number that proves your point), I will gladly eat my words.

I disagree. It's not Miyuki who has it worse-It was those who joined the bandwagon. They were manipulated and were only trying to help by punishing the 'criminal' like any mob would do. If anyone deserves empathy and a 'slap on the wrist', it's them.

If I recall, all of them were suspended or expelled from school. In the latest chapters, it was even revealed that Eiji's family did file a civil case against some them seeking compensation similar to Miyuki. Obviously those who partook in destruction of property and threatened to dox Eiji deserved it but those who only sent mean messages should only be punished with counseling and give an apology to Eiji. I do not recall if Miyuki was also expelled or just voluntarily stopped coming to school.

Miyuki was also given a last chance by the teacher to come clean before the school called the bullying out but she continued to lie to protect herself. This will be coming up in the next chapters if I'm correct.

I will argue, that compared to Kondo who will get sent to Juvie and Tachibana who will be tried as an adult and likely be sent to prison, she has it better. She only has to pay the settlement and is not even ordered to undergo theraphy. Her college funds used can be earned back and her reputation can be restored with some work. The investigator even gave her the benefit of a doubt and said she could reduce the compensation if she contests it but chose not to.

I don’t understand why when it comes to Miyuki that some people are still trying to get ’Sympathy for the Devil’. No matter how much punishment she has endured, SHE DESERVES EVERY BIT OF IT! This was the very evil reality that she was trying to turn Eiji’s life into, only for herself to fall into the grave that she was digging for Eiji! She first lied to and betrayed Eiji… the man who loved her along with his family by her affair. Then when her affair was revealed and she could have chosen to stop the affair, stay with and comfort Eiji after being beaten by Kondo… she chose to abandon him and break his heart calling him a dangerous stalker to his own face! Then to protect her own reputation in school if Eiji exposed the truth, she allowed Kondo to photograph the bruises that Kondo himself had made on her wrist and accused Eiji of causing them while manhandling her! With the exception of Ai, Satoshi and a select few and the school staff, Miyuki had practically turned everyone else in the whole school into Eiji’s enemy with all of the lies that she allowed Kondo to spread! And she could’ve EASILY stopped the mayhem long before the consequences got severe by saying one phrase: “EIJI DIDN’T DO ANY OF THIS, IT’S NOT TRUE!”

But when the school investigation began, Miyuki instead chose to ride the lie until the wheels fell off! She only admitted to the truth of the matter after being cornered by her classmates after the announcement in the school auditorium when the facts and truth of the incident were being revealed and Kondo fled! And the facts were showing that the story that she and Kondo had concocted was a complete lie! But by that time, it’s too late for her to tell the truth about the story and still expect to be treated with mercy!

In my book and honest opinion, the ONLY person who is truly suffering unjustly is Miyuki’s mother… because she had absolutely no knowledge about what Miyuki was doing, but she however is legally still responsible for her daughter as her parent! But she is the only person who deserves mercy!… NOT Miyuki, NOT the soccer club, NOT the kids at school who participated in the mob mentality justice,(including the ones who posted pictures of his family’s restaurant business info on the chalkboard and promoted violence against him and his family), NOT the ones who left death wishes, broken glass and razor blades in his shoe locker… and sure as hell NOT KONDO OR TACHIBANA!!! And may the last two on that list burn in HELL!
