The anime is an adaptation of the LN, not the manga, and as such it's pretty faithful. Moreso than the manga, which focuses more on comedy. Both are good adaptations for different reasons.

As far as I know, the only time an anime has been based off the manga adaptation instead of the LN has been "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime," where the producers openly stated they changed things to match the manga better.

Which imo makes it the gold standard, if not a bit shackled to the monthly manga’s speed. They may need a better balance with the manga and LN for new seasons.

Have you seen the last episode? Or any episode at all? Cus as I was watching, I see differences very frequently, but the last episode is really what made me toss it to the bin.
Meanwhile, the manga, aside from the comedies, I haven't seen a single diverting part. What I see in the LN is what I see here.

If we take the anime as a standalone version i would say it's not that bad.
But as a manga adaptation its bad like... really bad.
