Like everyone, the Anime does thing differently enough to be appreciated on its own. And, not gonna lie, the VA(s) do a killer rendition of "I AM ATOMIC".

Neither WN, LN or anime play it straight. Their comedy is just a bit more subtle for the most part. And for example, LN has different POVs, and most of events from world's native POVs are written in a more serious tone, which creates a hillarious contrast of Cid's POV chapters where his warped perception of his reality is fully exposed (and he mentions all the plot patterns, clichés and shit).

This manga has fell off so bad. I really miss the earlier chapters. The comedy is not there, story is a convoluted mess, new characters are all boring.

Each chapter feels like a chore to read. I remember reading the volume 4 of the light novel in ESP to Eng MTL, even then the comedy was so peak.
