I personally dont. It would be completely against the themes of the story, mainly how girls are allowed to look and act masculine and still be treated like a normal girl.

Having Tomo only finally making a move after Ibuki dresses like a girl (something she doesnt like, btw) would leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Yeah exactly how I feel. Setting aside my own preferences and biases, Ibuki feels comfortable dressing the way she does. The series is about gender roles and challenging those perceptions, so having her fold to gender norms to “win” would defeat the message of the story. If Ibuki wants to dress more feminine and over come her distaste for that, then I say it’s fine. But I don’t get that impression that’s the take away from what I read so far. I also don’t think it’s a clear flip of “the boys the girl and the girls a boy” either.

Tomo’s is good at cooking, good with children, and isn’t tall, but also isn’t a feminine man either. Ibuki is tall and dresses like a man, but still considers herself a woman on the inside. Hopefully the story shows you don’t have to act a certain way to successfully embody your gender.

I mean, that is the plot of Tomo-chan is a Girl. Her whole deal was trying to be more feminine when the dude already was conscious of her and her changing ended up... not happening?

I think the transformation would be after they’re a couple like a 1st date or anniversary.
i never said I wanted her to change asap ? Like I just wanted to see another side to her

Dunno about the manga, but the anime definitely had him stop repressing his feelings for her substantially after Carol and Misuzu dressed her up and sent her on a mission to impress the guy.
