What I feel many authors overuse is not having the MC comfort the "rival" in this case. They always do it with the opposite sex and that brings the super cliche stuff. Emotional intimacy is a real thing people
I kind of like Ibuki and the new guy's dynamic. Considering their characters, I think it makes sense. It gives Ibuki a chance to show her character growth and how Tomo's affected her. Plus, it might force Tomo into action, which is great. Unless new guy actually develops feelings for Ibuki, I say let the author cook.
I don't need drama, I don't need rivals and I don't need side couples stealing page count. All I want is cute ineraction between the two MCs with natural relationship development. I'm tired of these played out cliches.
I don’t really mind it. Both our main characters obviously have no romantic interest in the new characters. Instead I think we’re seeing an inversion of the roles. Reverse-trap is out there helping people out out of the goodness of her heart, while short king is getting unwanted attention. The cliche appearance and the momentary angst from misunderstanding that will be coming to both our characters will be momentary setbacks, while the character development and new character dynamics will be lasting improvements to the story. Just like the losing potential partners in Musou Telepathy.
Oh boi it's so forced I wonder if the author truly wanted this Welp I guess we are seated in the rollercoaster now, we just have to get through the ride Thanks for the chapter anyway !
Ibuki is doing the same Tomo did (and still does) for her: showing kindness and giving a helping hand to someone in need. For his part, Tomo has just received a much-needed push to start realizing his feelings. As for the girl who suddenly declares herself to Tomo, we know nothing about her. None of these is bad per se. Why don't people cool a bit their heads and wait to see how this plays out?
As always, thank you for the translation!
