Yeah I gotta say I'm a little bemused by the fact that people get so mad at this trope. Like I get that this kind of development isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I don't think there's much to be concerned about. If anything I think it's quite endearing that Ibuki is trying so hard to be like Tomo, and Tomo was going to have to come to terms with romantic feelings at some point.

Maybe the way it was approached was a bit hammy and forced, but I'm pretty content to let the author cook, I don't think theres much reason to feel insecure when both sides are demonstrating how much they care for each other (admittedly in very different ways).

Now this is getting more interesting. It's cute to see Ibuki trying to be like Tomo, and I really liked that Tomo is starting to get jealous, could make him go for Ibuki more, and it gives him a bit more depth.

Also him just replying "Wha are you?" to a confession, that poor girls confidence must be down the drain.

It's interesting that the "Rivals" flash ack focused on his friend, could he be gay? Now that would be very interesting and welcome, and I'd probably forgive the author all this drama. But I'll keep my hopes low, for now.

Usually would agree but it is absolutely bonkers how bad it is if you think about it for more than 2 seconds- even if you read 100s of romance manga.

"I will do everything in my might to get with him!“ -> does absolutely nothing -> hot guy introduced -> she HAS to fix new guy, nya for him and be his savior bff -> MC spirals due to neglect and being left behind again -> new girl gets introduced
(prediction: -> FMC surprised pikachu when MC turns to new girl)

All that in the span of 3 (THREE) chapters, lmao.
