I'm going through transition right now, and these are life lessons to live by.

1. If someone misgenders you by mistake, correct them kindly. If they do it on purpose, get mad.

2. Don't let fear of rejection make you miss out on approaching people. Worst case scenario, you then know they're idiots; best case, you gained a new friend.

Yay, Yukka's intro! I've been reading ahead and she's pretty cool!

Also, I've had friends who were frustrated by the early chapters because Akira has been kind of a passive character (which is amplified by the POV character being Hime), but these chapters do a good job of showing how a lot of that passivity is fear-driven and once she feels like she's safe to express herself, she doesn't hold back her joy.

mikl, I'm also transitioning and I usually don't care which gender they gender me as. I believe that I pass most of the time except when I open my mouth though...

Still waiting for the reveal on how she cooked her noodles at school. Did she have to stop at the home ec classroom before heading out there? Tell me your secrets, noodle girl.

@2SpiritCherokeePrincess Yeah, point was kind of where they were for the water draining bit. Didn't really look like they're near an expected source of particularly warm water, let alone hot. Did she fill her noodles up at a source for hot water and walk it out there? Seems like a really dumb cooking accident waiting to happen, maybe a hazard if the water's hot enough. How about a thermos for the hot water, that might pass for acceptable explanation in the current location, huh? But no, only visible container like that the whole time had someone else's cream soup in it.

Which is all way too much thought to put into a joke about a joke, but you had to make a joke about the joke about the joke.

Yikes, I didn't even think of that. Good thing I never got scalded. Come to think of it, I don't remember the last time I had instant noodles--only young people can mistake that for food, or carry around a package of steaming water.
