honestly I don’t blame him for trying to be friends with kurose, it’s literally who he is, and he’d never willingly cheat. Runa on the other hand is impulsive and not so trust worthy. The authors done this twist before with the beach, but this is literally her ex.

I understand him coming after Maria, though. He's too kind to ignore her, and, besides, if Runa still want to mend things with Maria, ignoring her in this situation would just push that goal further away.
Also, this manga has too much misunderstandings for Runa walking around with Sekiya to NOT be another one.

The idiotic Friendship Plan practically requires Ryuuto to chase after Maria (even presuming he wouldn't do that already), but Runa is taking forever to realize she's facing the consequences of her own actions here.
