What happened at the party? Did Lynos tell a story or something to manipulate others or something? I am so confused.

2nd chapter and the whole isekai part is already being tossed aside. What was the whole point then? Should have just been a child slave in the first place.

The 3rd page last panel typesetting seems to be incorrect. The “This weakling” and “Somehow I feel angry” should switch bubbles.

oh god ok I did realize that she got married at 12 and then was unable to bear a child which means she had to do the deed but Jesus I didn't expect her to be sexually abused

shiggy diggy

@zokoi19 This seems to be based on late Medieval Europe, where the law was that a bride can't deny consent. Marital rape was just not considered a crime, even though it was considered a very severe one just slightly earlier in European history.

I was hoping she’d be a virgin but I guess the unable to bare a child should’ve given me a clue, there should be a sexual violence tag!

I get that he's grateful that he ended up with good masters but he reacts to basic kindness like he's never known anything good before, even in his previous life. Maybe he really did have a 100% miserable life back in Japan but it feels like the reactions are pulled from other manga with grateful servants.

I'm not feeling the prior experience of being a free individual. Usually, they rise above in situations like this while still respecting their employers who helped them out.

@johnpoop2529 its not like you see it at all though, it's not really important to the plot. All it is is some background towards one of the characters.

@DoubleA I also think that too.

I feel that ideally for the plot, his past live in Japan and other world should either parallel each other or the opposite. Here he still become slave/servant of someone else... a good one, indeed, but... like he never feel anything from his past. Just grateful. Yeah, but, you still owned by someone?? You're not a free man??

Well, maybe MC has slave mentality shaped by his experience as black company employee :')

Yeah, considering he was an adult in modern Japan, he should have high reservations about being a slave. Freedom should be a primary underlying concern for him. That being said, I do certainly see why he lived like he did so far. He was a small kid in a totally foreign world, with no background, no means, no contacts, no nothing. He was offered good food and residence, and above all quality education/training with cordial treatment, so it was the safest bet to receive it all to grow up and build his strength. Once he's strong enough, he can start to really consider the ways of gaining freedom. All in all, it was the smart way.

@Bluedudu we have different opinions on what's most important in life. for you it might be comfort for me it's freedom. i would rather die free than live as a slave.
The only freedom he'd have at that age is from the mortal coil 😮‍💨
